Want to work for Ubisoft? You just need to organize a ‘dream team’

Having apparently grown tired of the formulaic process of accepting applications from hopeful employees, developer/publisher Ubisoft has decided on a more interesting way to find its next development team. And of course it relies on you doing all the footwork. The offer Ubisoft is making is for you to get in touch with a bunch of talented people within the games industry that don’t know you, and somehow convince them to drop whatever they’re working on right now and sign up for some unknown project. Yeah, Ubisoft isn’t saying what, exactly, your team will be working on, but the cute girl in the explanation video says that it’s an upcomming AAA project. Hopefully that means you won’t get stuck making the next Animalz game.

I was about to pick up the phone and start calling my old pals Ken Levine, Nobuo Uematsu, Will Wright, and everyone that works at Treasure to see if they were interested in signing up for this, but then I got to thinking about all the talent we have right here at Destructoid. I can see it now: Anthony can come up with and refine the gameplay mechanics, Dale can compose the music, Jim Topher can make with the pretty visuals, and Chad can be our ridiculously good looking producer that convinces people to try our horribly mish mashed product. I also know that Fronz got a gaming related degree — though I forget for what — so he can do everything else.

This might not end up as my best idea ever, but maybe we’ll get lucky and no one else will enter. If you’re interested in giving this a shot — and reducing our chances of winning by 95 percent — then head on over to the official site to get all the details. You’ll need to solve a complex matching puzzle to gain admittance, so I’ll give you a hint: the lamp isn’t a selectable teamate.

If you had the ability to work with any game developer of your choice, who would you pick?
