EA Warrington’s new Road Rash game is in the works, and some previsualization test footage has been uncovered. This is just rough conceptual stuff at the moment, but even the bare-bones video you see here is looking incredibly promising.
It looks like the violence that made Road Rash is a classic is going to be a rightfully important part of this current-gen iteration. As you can see in the video, players can grab opponents and attempt to pull them off the bike. In the video, two players struggle on their bikes while narrowly avoiding an oncoming car. I can only imagine how awesome that will look when the car has colors and textures and … well … looks more like car.
It also seems as if successfully dragging an enemy off his ride will result in a boost, and you can also pull signs from the side of the road to use as a weapon. Looks really awesome as a concept, so this is one game I’m definitely going to pay more attention to.

[Update: I’m being told this game may actually have been canceled. Now I feel like I was given a Christmas gift, had it taken away, and was then punched in the bollocks.]
