Best dressed dev of PAX East 2015
At PAX East, I spent a majority of my time playing indie games but the one that really stood out is Wander, a non-combat exploration MMO about discovering the story of the world around you. The booth was an outlier — the display was set up on a large television surrounded by bits of moss, and the dev stationed by its side was the sharpest-dressed developer at the show.
That dev was Loki, a handsome Australian man whose accent made me swoon a bit; what can I say, I have a thing for devs with foreign accents. I could smell a faint hint of alcohol on his breath as he spoke, which made me think “I’d like to drink today as well, and I haven’t even had to explain my game to thousands of people.” We spoke for a brief moment, then had our interview as seen in the video above, then parted ways. The next day I passed by Loki, he had another snazzy getup on and I yearned to talk to again. Alas, I didn’t have time.
I wonder what Loki is up to these days. I miss him. You can wander in his game Wander at the end of next month on Steam and PlayStation 4. I know I’ll be there, remembering Loki’s style and grace, and the way his glasses rested gently on his face. *sigh*
