Voting for the short-list has finally gone live for the world’s most popular videogames award ceremony, the UK’s 28th annual Golden Joystick Awards.

The Golden Joysticks ask gamers from all over the world to cast their votes in 16 different categories. The categories have been rearranged this year to reflect the ever changing gaming community, with downloadable games and mobile gaming now being represented and console specific categories abolished in place of genre.

The biggest of them all still remains with the “Ultimate Game of The Year” award and past winners include Fallout 3, Assassin’s Creed and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The 28th annual awards focus on games released from May 22 2009 to May 22 2010, but that still sees games such as Bayonetta, Super Street Fighter IV and Final Fantasy XIII battling out for your votes.

Last year saw over 1.2 million votes and The Joysticks are hoping to reach a massive 1.5 million with this year, helping them to keep their Guinness World Record. Cast your vote and have your say!
