Resistance: Fall of Man

There are a few things which have prevented me from checking out the Resistance series. I’m not generally a huge fan of first-person shooters, though I do enjoy a good sci-fi / horror tale. But not having a PS3 for the first few years it was available is probably the biggest impediment to checking out one of the console’s launch series.
I’m sure it’s a bit on the rough side by this point but I do like killing aliens.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

It’s been a rocky period for the Prince of Persia franchise. After what seems to have been an unsuccessful reboot of the series (much to my chagrin; I adored 2008’s Prince of Persia), Ubisoft went back to the previously abandoned plot line with The Forgotten Sands. To their credit, Ubisoft seems to have acknowledged which of their games remains most deserving of a sequel and placed this 2010 title directly following The Sands of Time in its respective chronology.
I have played every game in the Prince of Persia series, even if I rarely make the effort to finish them. With your help, perhaps I’ll knock this one off my list.
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks

The ridiculous mythology which sprang out of the Mortal Kombat franchise eventually gave rise to a few spin-off titles attempting action-adventure instead of competitive, tournament fighting. The best of these, by all accounts I’ve seen, is Shaolin Monks. It’s an alternate telling of events which transpire between the first and second Mortal Kombat titles featuring Liu Kang and Kung Lao.
I like a good, mindless beat-em-up from time to time and this appears to be that. I wouldn’t know. I picked it up on clearance somewhere and never played.
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle

I liked the first No More Heroes game in the same way that I like everything Suda51 touches. His games are weird and wonderful but often unfocused and prone to paying more attention to style than playability. There were deep flaws which I was willing to overlook because of the title’s creativity.
The problem comes when someone who makes creative statements then produces a sequel to a statement. Now, the artistry seems less significant and poor gameplay less forgivable. Desperate Struggle did much to improve on the original, I became weary after a time and decided I just wasn’t having fun. Help me have fun again.
Mystery Game
Finally, we have the Mystery Game. Don’t make the mistake of choosing this for curiosity’s sake, as people have clamored before to know what it was and groaned when they learned. The intent here is to select the Mystery Game if none of the other games appeal to you, so voting for it just because you want to know what it is is kind of a dick move.
If the Mystery Game is not chosen, it’ll roll over into the next series where it will continue to be a mystery.
