Video games take over Iron Maiden’s latest music video

‘Speed of Light’

Recommended Videos

Old man rockers Iron Maiden are still making music, apparently. That’s commendable in its own right, as those dudes are 40 years into this gig at this point. The band’s newest song has all the sharp licks and wailing vocals that you’d expect, but visitors to this site might find something else a bit more interesting.

The video for “Speed of Light” is completely dedicated to a video game theme. In it, the band’s mascot travels through time to different eras of gaming in search of hearts. There are clear and obvious references to the likes of Donkey Kong, Mortal Kombat, and (probably) Call of Duty. Stick around for the ending because it is metal as flonk.
