Video: 6 minutes of (Burnout) Paradise

Recommended Videos

Here’s a video showcasing gameplay for the PlayStation 3 version of Burnout Paradise. It should be noted that this is a pre-alpha build of the game.

The first thing you’ll probably notice is the open-ended world. Not having loading screens for this type of game is a huge plus, because when you want to wreck some sh*t, you don’t do it for a few minutes and then stop all of a sudden — you need to satisfy your appetite for destruction by going on an hour-long rampage.

Taking down your friends has never been so much fun thanks to the new crash physics and the ability to see their annoyed faces via PlayStation Eye or Xbox Live Vision camera. You could probably even get your opponent to wreck his/her vehicle by flashing them during your “mugshot.”

All in all, Burnout Paradise seems to be coming along nicely. I missed out on the last couple games, but seeing as how this is a “complete reinvention” of the series, I’m willing to give it another shot.
