Utterly pathetic: Infinity Blade rip-off Infinity Sword

Recommended Videos

Earlier this morning, we posted word that Infinity Blade was dropping in price. While looking up Chair’s critically acclaimed iOS game to grab its iTunes URL, I spotted another, eerily similar game. Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you Infinity Sword!

What you’re looking at is yet another shameless iOS rip-off from a developer who clearly has no self-respect and very little in the way of scruples. It’s supposed to be a one-on-one sword battling game, exactly like Infinity Blade, except it looks like utter shit.

“The Kingdom is in chaos,” states the game’s summary. “The King lies dead without an heir, slain by a villainous hand. Will a leader rise up and rally the support of the people, or will the shadow of anarchy spread over the land?”

I try to be a big advocate of mobile gaming, but this predictable tendency for developers to make blatant copies of anything that becomes successful is beyond disgusting. We accuse retail developers of being unoriginal sometimes, but nothing compares to the laziness, classlessness, and outright thievery of mobile devs.

Still, at least the plagiarism can lead to some hilariously awful results, like this one.
