Upgraded version of Kingdom Conquest comes to PS Vita

Sega’s Kingdom Conquest is a big deal in the mobile gaming world. This free-to-play RPG has 1.3 million user accounts online already. If you haven’t checked it out, it’s a really nice strategy/dungeon crawler. Totally worth your time.

The PlayStation Vita could see a similar game. The team behind Kingdom Conquest, including producer Masayoshi Kikuchi, are now working on an upgraded version for PS Vita. This week’s issue of Famitsu says that this new game, Samurai & Dragons, has the core gameplay of KC, but will have a new interface and controls for Vita.

“You can keep playing by yourself,” Kikuchi told Famitsu, “but the game’s basically set up such that players naturally interfere with each other. That’s why we chose the Vita as the target system — it’s a portable platform that’s always connected to the Internet.”

Great news. Kingdom Conquest is a great game, so Samurai & Dragons should be just as good, if not better. It does have the better name.

No release date was given, but the game will be debuted next week in Tokyo at Jump Festa, says 1UP.
