Uncharted 4 development ‘will not be impacted’

Recommended Videos

Amy Hennig, writer and director on the Uncharted series, has left Naughty Dog, Sony has confirmed to IGN.

In her 10 years at Naughty Dog, Hennig was most known for writing and directing the three Uncharted PS3 games. She was also writing and heading the upcoming Uncharted PS4 title. “The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted,” Sony’s statement reads.

IGN sources claim Hennig was “forced out” by The Last of Us’ Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, whom might be taking over Uncharted (they co-wrote and co-directed Uncharted 2, respectively).

That Hennig, whose last day was March 3, might have been “forced out” is surprising and discomforting. We’re fortunate for her work on the series up until this point and I’m interested to see what she does next, as well as what this may mean for the Uncharted series and The Last of Us leads.
