My first reaction to this box set, without even taking a close look at the contents of the package, is that I want it. It’s black. It’s sexy. It has the words “Professor Layton” on it. Of course, I already own a black DSi, so I don’t need it, but my “Buy it!” radar goes off anyway. That’s the power of excellent packaging, I suppose.
What you do get if you buy this UK-only bundle is a black DS and a copy of Professor Layton and the Curious Village. I was hoping for some art on the DS itself — a little Layton on the cover of my DS would be freaking RAD — but it’s not there. Just clever box art, folks. Still, it’s looking good, you have to admit. The set retails for £120 (roughly $195) and comes out around Father’s Day. If I had a dad cool enough to appreciate this, I’d be set for life.
