Call of Duty: World at War debuted in the UK charts at number one last week and is still going strong. Holding on to the top slot, Activision’s latest gravy boat isn’t looking to run aground soon.
Treyarch’s take on the Call of Duty series has managed to keep FIFA 09 in the second position, followed by Mario Kart Wii. The top five breaks down like this:
1. Call of Duty: World at War
2. FIFA 09
3. Mario Kart Wii
4. Need for Speed: Undercover
5. Wii Fit
As Christmas rolls around, we can see that games like Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii are popping back into the high chart positions. Nintendo will obviously be having a great holiday period, but I’m interested to see how the mix of chart-toppers like Gears 2 and “casual” titles like Lips will bode for Microsoft.
As for Sony … well, there’s always next year.
