Ubisoft sold 1.6m copies of South Park: Stick of Truth

It took over a year to count everything

Ubisoft has sold 1.6 million copies of South Park: The Stick of Truth.

The confirmation comes via Ubisoft’s recent earnings report. Though the developer had previously revealed that sales of 2014’s best RPG (yeah, I think it was the best – wanna fight about it?) had been “stronger than expected”, it’s taken them over a year to confirm the actual figures.

No, I don’t know why it’s taken that long, either (although, cynic as I am, I wonder if there’s some sequel-tastic reason why they’re bringing it to our attention now? Just sayin’).

Not played it? Friend, you really, really should. In our South Park: The Stick of Truth review we said that it was “filled with so much care from the show’s creators, that it makes it something truly special”. With the solid gameplay, kickass soundtrack, genuinely laugh-out-loud jokes and countless nods to your favourite episodes and guest appearances, I think The Stick of Truth is as practically perfect a licensed game can ever hope to be.
