The Settlers is quite the long-running videogame franchise; the first title in the series was released in 1993. More than 20 years later, it’s still going, as Ubisoft just revealed The Settlers – Kingdoms of Anteria.

All that we know about Kingdoms of Anteria at this point is that it’s being developed by Blue Byte, and that it’s due out in 2014. Blue Byte’s Christopher Schmitz had the following to say: “By reinventing our approach to the franchise, The Settlers – Kingdoms of Anteria offers players a brand new experience full of new possibilities to explore. Without a doubt, this is the most innovative Settlers game we have ever created.”

As for gameplay specifics, those will have to wait. However, there’s this announcement trailer to tide you over until more information comes through the pipeline.
