Wow, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is something I haven’t thought about in 10 years. I always thought it was a weird attempt to piggyback on the success Spyro and Crash Bandicoot had during the  generation before. The last game, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan, was released way back in 2005 for the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, and Game Boy Advance. Since then, we’ve not heard much about him.

Fast forward to 2015, we have hoverboards finally, there is world peace forever, and now Ty 4 is is a thing and it’s coming to Steam on September 18.

The game takes a different approach to its predecessors, being a 2D platformer instead of a 3D one. Developed and published completely by original Ty developers Krome Studios, the screenshots look a little bit rough, but it’s good to see Ty back after so long.

Not only are we getting a Ty 4, but the first three games are getting a rerelease on PC. Teased on the official Ty Facebook page way back in the dark past of a few weeks ago, all four games are shown running together on PC.

There is currently no release date announced for the first three games just yet. Maybe Ty can make a comeback like Rayman did?
