Two Worlds II delayed again

Originally due out for release this month, Two Worlds II has been delayed yet again by publisher Southpeak. The promisingly not-totally-shit sequel to the totally-very-shit Two Worlds has now been shunted into 2011 with a vague January release.

“… Although we feel that the game is truly at ‘AAA’ level, that reason is that we want Two Worlds II to be absolutely flawless when it launches in the North American market,” says Southpeak. “Although we could bring the game to market earlier in order to take advantage of the holiday buying season, we felt that we would do a better service to you by making sure that the game you want is absolutely as it should be.”

Interestingly, the game won’t be delayed in Europe, despite the fact that this delay is for extra quality assurance. Europe will be getting the game this year, but according to Southpeak, it won’t be as good as the North American version.

“By importing the game, you’re paying more money for something that if you can wait, you’ll be able to buy in January at a cheaper price and that will have benefitted from heavyweight Quality Assurance (QA) for the North American market.” warns the publisher.

Well, it’s noble of Southpeak for put the extra QA time in, but basically admitting that Europe’s getting a guaranteed inferior version that isn’t receiving the extra testing that it apparently needs? Something tells me that’s not going to go over well.
