Tron: Evolution devs talk about staying true to history

Here we have a video of some of the people who have worked on Tron: Evolution discussing how important it is that they keep consistent with fan expectations of the beloved original film. I love how we see this so often now that Hollywood seems intent on digging up every conceivable relic of filmmaking, these pleas for trust from the folks working on the project.

They’re always the same. Someone points out how there are a lot of people on the development team who hold the property with the same reverence. Someone else makes a big deal about how they know how important it is that they get this or that detail correct. And it never hurts to show off people associated with the original project who are now involved with the new one, just to show that they’re keeping it real.

I’m not dissing on Tron: Evolution or anything. It looks like a fun game. But can we please stop with the placations? We’ve heard them all before.
