Stupid is as stupid does
Have you ever heard the saying, just because you can doesn’t mean you should? Well, apparently this guy didn’t.
A Las Vegas “man” has been arrested after authorities alleged Brandon Willson, 19, made up a murder in order to get police to come down on another person’s home. Going by the name Famed God, Wilson allegedly used his computer to contact a 911 center and claimed a murder happened at a home in Naperville. When Naperville’s Special Response Team arrived, they found no crime.
Is this the same Famed God involved with the recent PSN fiasco? It’s possible, but that’s not why he was arrested this time.
Willson also is accused of hacking into the gaming consoles of at least two people to obtain or change their personal information. What a winner! Oh, and he also allegedly threatened that he would access a person’s bank and Social Security accounts and put the person’s father “in debt for life.”
The Chicago Sun Times reports that Wilson is charged with two counts of computer tampering and one count each of intimidation, computer fraud, identity theft and disorderly conduct. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
Hey kids, swatting is bad, mmmmkay.
