Treyarch bringing Modern Warfare 3 to Wii

The buzz surrounding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is reaching a fevered pitch as we creep towards its holiday release. But most of the talk has been focused on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of the title.

Fans of the series who game on Nintendo’s Wii breathed a sigh of relief when Activision revealed that Modern Warfare 3 would indeed be coming to the platform. While little is known (Activision has yet to show the game off), we can now fill in the “developer” blank: that other Call of Duty studio, Treyarch is handling it.

“The great thing is Treyarch proved that you can have an awesome experience on the Wii with Call of Duty,” Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling said on the “One of Swords” podcast.

Treyarch actually handled its own port of Call of Duty: Black Ops last year, and that turned out pretty well. Jonathan Holmes got down with the game for review and gave it an 8 out of 10.
