Trademarks point to possible Alpha Centauri revival

Could the beloved sci-fi strategy title be making a comeback? Trademarks for Alpha Centauri registered earlier this month by Electronic Arts have caused such speculation.

The first trademark is for computer game software, while the second is for “entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game.” It’s been suggested that this could purely result in EA throwing Alpha Centauri up on Origin, rather than coming out with a modern title.

Can’t it be both? Well, can’t it, EA?!
