Tony Hawk Shred soundtrack possibly better than game

I haven’t played Tony Hawk Shred yet, but you may already know I wasn’t a big fan of Tony Hawk Ride. Shred uses the same board peripheral, but promises a better experience across the board, while tossing snowboarding into the mix. Does it deliver? Don’t know, but the soundtrack looks pretty decent.

In true Tony Hawk game fashion, you’re looking at an eclectic mix of more than 50 songs, ranging from rock to punk to hip-hop. You’ve got Aceyalone, Social Distortion, Vampire Weekend, Iggy & The Stooges, and more. And because they’re gearing the game towards the younger crowd, they’ve included Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out,” because kids love that song. Because school sucks, and it being totally out forever is, like, a great concept when you’re 13-years-old.

Tony Hawk Shred is out next week for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. See a list of and hear clips from the whole soundtrack here
