I’ve been pretty vocal about not being a huge fan of Tomb Raider: Underworld , but even I can admit when I see something being done right. If this trailer for the upcoming content, Beneath the Ashes , is any indication, this is certainly downloadable content being done right.
Beneath the Ashes adds an entirely fresh story, including a new area, and different ways to utilized the game’s existing gameplay. Best of all, the new content reveals some creepy caverns beneath a Croft Manor ravaged by fire — we’re talking torture devices and other frightening (and kinky-looking) mechanisms. Perhaps the the Croft’s have a long history of … experimenting.
The DLC will be exclusive to the Xbox 360, and is set to be available on February 12. Pricing has yet to be announced, but retailer GameStop will be selling a “Tomb Raider Underworld Expansion Pack” for $19.99, which contains two codes redeemable on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. If that’s any indication, 800 MS Points each for Beneath the Ashes and the forthcoming Lara’s Shadow (set for a March 10 release) seems likely.
