Tokyo is holding a party to celebrate Sonic’s 25th Anniversary

At Joypolis

If you happen to reside in Japan, Sega is holding a 25th Anniversary Sonic celebration on June 25 that you could feasibly get into. It’ll be held at the Tokyo Joypolis, and will not take the place of the event that’s already happening in San Diego on July 22 in the US.

At 14:00 JST the main event will start, which will be streamed through various channels and feature Sonic developers. The new Sonic Boom will also be playable, if you’re really into that.

If you’ve never heard of the Joypolis locations before, they’re basically miniature arcade themeparks, with rides and such. I actually had the chance to check it out but didn’t have the time to fully explore it last year — regrets!
