Tokyo Game Show 2013 breaks attendance records again

2014 TGS scheduled

They did a nice job of spacing it out this year (adding a new hall for indie, cosplay and other sections) so I didn’t realize that TGS 2013 broke attendance records until now. CESA and Nikkei say that the four-day attendance number of 270,197 is a record breaker, busting last year’s attendance by more that 45,000 heads.

More than 350 companies showed their games and wares at TGS 2013 this year, topping last year’s number of 209.

The individual public days were also record breakers. I thought Saturday was nuts! More than 115,000 gamers showed up to Makuhari Messe in Chiba on September 22.

We now know that TGS 2014 will take place in the same place as always on September 18-21 next year. See you there!
