Tokyo Game Show 2012 site is live: Heatstroke, exhibitors

The official website for Tokyo Game Show 2012 went live earlier today. The September 20-23 event will take place at Makuhari Messe, as always, and it will be hot and muggy, as always, but there’s one small change this year: No Microsoft. As reported earlier, Microsoft will not be attending this year’s Tokyo Game Show or gamescom, both of which happen to be two of largest video game trade shows in the world. Silly!

Everyone else is going, as always. (Well, not Nintendo. They’ve never attended, though they hold a Japanese event at about the same time.) The TGS website lists all of the exhibitors for this year, and all of the big guns will still be there: Capcom, Konami, Sega, Square Enix, Sony, Namco Bandai and more. Also, it seems that the smartphone/mobile section of the show has grown quite a bit!

The various information and guidance for attendees on TGS website is always fun to read through. This year, in the notices section, attendees are warned of heat stroke:

Beware of heat stroke. The chance of sweating by hectic conditions has also increased at inside or outside of the venue. To prevent heat stroke, take drinking fluids and salt regularly throughout the day.

Also, no exposed breasts or Nazi cosplay!

Can’t wait!
