Tokyo Game Show 2012 beat last year’s attendance

What a week! Tokyo Game Show 2012 is over, and we have a rather uprising amount of stories to show for it, actually. I went in not expecting to see too much from the show, but there were quite a few Japan-only games that had us calling for worldwide releases.

This year saw 223,753 visitors, compared to 2011’s 222,668. Not a huge boost, of course, but the fact that attendance didn’t decline is good — especially considering there was no next-gen hardware from Microsoft or Sony present. That’s got to count for something.

The first public day was the big one, bringing in 94,989 visitors compared to last year’s 86,251. As for Tokyo Game Show 2013, it’s once again set to take place at Makuhari Messe, this time from Thursday, September 19 to Sunday, September 22, 2013.
