ToeJam & Earl may soon arrive on PlayStation Network

Siliconera has reported on a rumor that the funkiest aliens ever to be stranded on Earth will soon make their way to PlayStation Network. According to their sources, ToeJam & Earl and ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron are the next titles in the SEGA Vintage Collection series.

ToeJam & Earl might be my favorite game released for the Genesis console, with its randomly generated levels, crazy Earthlings and couch cooperative play. I spent countless hours holed up in a dark bedroom playing it as a teen and I’m greatly looking forward to doing it again without having to drag out the Genesis (or reconnect my Wii; I have a pretty limited number of outlets in here).

Now, if only we could get Microsoft to release ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth for Games on Demand. It’s one of the reasons I bought an Xbox in the first place and its incompatibility with the 360 has always made me a bit of a sad panda. I mean, it’s not a great game — certainly, it is the weakest of the trilogy — but it still holds a special place in my heart. Time to drag out the Xbox, I guess.
