Grizzly bears are pure nightmare fuel

In today’s episode of Impulse, Sam Mui from Infinite Backlog joins me to discuss our favorite details and moments experience so far in Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2! From terrifying grizzly attacks, placing people on railroad tracks, and even something as simple as twirling Arthur’s gun!

So far, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been a game that I genuinely think sets the bar so high for open world game design, that it’s pissing down on the competition and they think it’s raining. But, that extreme attention to detail is not without some annoyances. Everything takes time. Everything. It’s a game that I think demands patience, but then rewards you for your patience.

I also think the UI can be a bit of a mess at times, especially when you have numerous guns and you’re forced to constantly shuffle through them all with no way to store them. Those annoyances aside, I haven’t enjoyed exploring an open world game this much since Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This hardware generation might be flooded with open world games, but I also think it has given us some of the best that the genre has to offer.
