Tides of Numenera’s first screenshot shows off the Bloom

It’s blooming marvellous

If the first screenshot for Torment: Tides of Numenera is anything to go by, inXile’s kickstarted RPG is going have some rather exotic locales — grotesque and exotic. This in-game screenshot shows off the Bloom, and it sounds bloody horrific. Not just a setting, the Bloom is a semi-sentient predator with tendrils that extend through the folds of reality.

Somehow, people manage to live in it, exploring its mass and finding and selling the relics they find there. It’s a dangerous place, and a step in the wrong direction could send adventurers into another world, or into the maw of a dangerous creature. Sounds lovely.
