THQ has taken pre-E3 as the opportunity to finally reveal more information on Marvel Super Hero Squad, an action title based on the upcoming Cartoon Network animated series, The Super Hero Squad Show.
If you’re screaming “This is Marvel Ultimate Alliance for babies!” you might not be that far off. The series and game definitely looks be skewing a bit younger, but I won’t lie and say it doesn’t have my attention. The tiny little versions of the game’s playable heroes and villains — Captain America, Dr. Doom, Falcon, Hulk, Iron Man, Juggernaut, Miss Marvel, Silver Surfer, Thing, Thor, and Wolverine, among others — are so damned cute!
Marvel Super Hero Squad will feature two modes, Battle and Adventure. In Battle, four players will be able to kick the crap out of one another in a battle arena. Adventure Mode features six different campaigns, each based on one of the show’s episodes which will air this fall.
Not surprisingly, Marvel Super Hero Squad is in development for Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, and the PlayStation Portable. Check the teaser trailer after the jump.

(NASDAQ: THQI) today announced plans to deliver Marvel Super Hero Squad, the first video game based on the animated series, The Super Hero Squad Show, scheduled to debut this fall on Cartoon Network. Marvel Super Hero Squad will mark the first title in THQ’s licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment, Inc., and is currently in development for Wii™ home video game system, Nintendo DS™, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system. The multiplayer adventure game will feature nonstop action-adventure gameplay and epic battles, as well as a breadth of the new, super-stylized Marvel characters.

Set in the ever popular Marvel Universe, the Super Hero Squad is on a dire mission against Dr. Doom’s Lethal Legion of villains to recover the hidden Infinity Fractals; fragments of the all-powerful Infinity Sword. Each Infinity Fractal holds incredible power and can have significant effects on its possessor, giving each character special abilities that could alter the game’s rules and playing field.
