Given who’s responsible for bringing us Vanquish — Platinum Games, and yes, Shinji Mikami — I shouldn’t be this surprised to find myself desperately wanting to see more of the game. The attached video is our first taste of in-game footage (courtesy of GameTrailers), and hot damn, it’s looking terrific.
While it is fairly short as far as these videos tend to go, we do get a healthy glimpse at two key elements of Vanquish: its monkey-riding-a-dog level of absurd characters, and its sensory overload-inducing action. Also, there’s a cameo by Epic Beard Man.
Basically, I need this thing in my house. Now.
