They always say how it’s what you don’t see that’s truly frightening. I’d say that logic extends to videogame trailers, based on this new one for Xbox LIVE Arcade platformer Limbo. They purposely cut out all of the — what I assume are gruesome — in-game deaths right before they would naturally occur.
The end result is goddamn chilling.
I can’t say for sure what losing in Limbo looks like, but according to my imagination, it’s a pretty messed-up sight to witness. What I can say for sure, however, is that Limbo‘s art direction and sound design are as distinct and eerily wonderful as ever.
