This new mod touches up The Witcher III’s visuals while maintaining the spirit of the original

‘Reworked Project’

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is over five years old at this point, but CD Projekt Red is still reaping the benefits of its lasting appeal.

Appearing on nearly every Game of the Year list at the time, the RPG has extremely long legs, even appearing on the Nintendo Switch over four years after launch. That many people are still playing it amid various deep discount PC sales, and the modding community is has been going strong ever since it arrived.

That includes the “Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project,” which just recently launched on Nexus Mods. The mod boasts “very high quality textures without any VRAM losses,” as well as “high poly mesh” maps and an expanded level of detail overall. The thing about this mod is that it doesn’t drastically re-invent the wheel, instead aiming to preserve “CD Projekt Red’s artistic vision.”

So if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t dig total conversion mods, this is probably the excuse you needed to fire up Witcher 3 again before the next season of the TV show starts.
