This documentary takes a look at the state of these monolithic Japanese institutions circa 1995! It’s hard to believe things have changed so much in just twenty years. NEC and Sega are no longer in the hardware game and NEC is but a whisper these days. ASCII’s gaming division has split, restructured, split again, and is now ASCII Media Works. Taito and Enix are owned by Square. It’s crazy to think how much the gaming industry has grown and evolved over time.

Unfortunately, the documentary is in Japanese only, but just seeing through the lens to twenty years back makes me feel fuzzy, like getting a Super Nintendo on Christmas morning.
