Metro 2033 Redux, which was released over a decade ago, has suddenly had a 100% discount placed on it until tomorrow and can be picked up by anyone right now. The game’s free offer has seen the player base jump overnight, and as more people wake up to this bargain, the current player count shows no signs of stopping. You can add it to your own Steam library by clicking this link.

Metro 2033 Redux is the definitive version of the cult classic ‘Metro 2033’ and is set in the year 2033, where a handful of survivors who were born and raised underground following an apocalyptic event take on mutant horrors to try and survive. You play as Artyom, raised underground and tasked with warning the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat. We won’t spoil more about it, but for anyone who has never played it—you are in for a treat.

If you end up falling in love with the game series like I have, I implore you to take the dive into other Metro games like Metro Exodus and if you have a VR headset, you can even try out Metro Awakening. Both are pretty solid and are also on offer at the moment while Redux is free, so it’s a great time to get into the entire series.

If you are only here to get yourself a free game, however, then Metro 2033 Redux will go back to full price on April 16 at 10am CT, so grab it quickly either on the PC or mobile app before it’s gone for good. You can even snag the New Beginning’s DLC for a couple of bucks, which is a steal to enjoy the full experience.
