There’s an exclusive furnishing reward in Genshin Impact’s new Lantern Rite web event

Don't miss out on Lunar New Year goodies!

Genshin Impact has a new web event for this year’s Lantern Rite celebration for Lunar New Year. If you’re someone who usually skips web events, you might want to participate in this one, lest you miss out on an exclusive in-game reward.

The web event, titled “Dancing Beasts and Soaring Kites,” lasts until February 17. You can find it on its official website. Parts of it are time-gated over multiple days, so it’s better to get started sooner rather than later.

Web event rewards include the usual Primogems, Mora, Hero’s Wits, and Mystic Enhancement Ores, which are sent to your in-game mail upon completing a set number of puzzles. Complete three puzzles to unlock an additional furnishing blueprint for Valley Store: The Leisure of Tea. The furnishing appears to be a large building in the Chenyu Vale style that you can add to your Serenitea Pot.

Genshin Impact offers exclusive teapot furnishing for Lunar New Year event

This may be the first time Genshin Impact has given out a teapot furnishing exclusive to a web event. We’ve gotten furnishings (not blueprints) from a web event before, but the event details did say that the furnishings would be obtainable in the main game too. The event details for “Dancing Beasts and Soaring Kites” make no such mention.

If you’re a teapot completionist, this means that you may need to pay attention to future web events in case there’s another special furnishing reward. Then again, certain furnishings have been exclusive to the Battle Pass or collaborations with other companies, so maybe it’s not so bad to miss one or two from web events too. At least the web events are completely free.

Aside from its rewards, “Dancing Beasts and Soaring Kites” features gorgeous animated artwork that features Gaming and Xianyun, as well as cameos from other characters. I’m relieved that HoYoverse continues to invest in fantastic original artwork for its web events, especially after the unholy AI-generated abomination from October of last year.

Happy Lunar New Year to everyone who celebrates! May good health and fortune follow you throughout the new year!
