It’s the Amazon delivery cats ask for by name
Big bummer for some folks in the UK; great news for felines and Charlie Day who uses the stuff as a sleeping aid. Some people have found their PlayStation 5 order to contain cat food rather than a new console.
The Guardian reports that there are stories going around the UK of Amazon customers getting heavy non-PS5 items inside their expected PS5 shipments. Stuff like bags of rice, George Foreman grills, and cat food is showing up. No one’s too stoked about it.
love to have been waiting all day for my PS5 delivery only for this to show up at 10pm, is this a joke @AmazonUK @PlayStationUK @AskPS_UK ? pic.twitter.com/79Zz6E85Ob

There’s thievery afoot! Some ne’er-do-wells somewhere along the way are swapping the PlayStation 5s for less desirable items. Where could the crimes originate? At the Amazon warehouses? On the delivery trucks? A bunch of neighbors all with the exact same idea? If only there were a famous British detective who could sort this out.
All’s well that ends well, and this will probably end well. Amazon says it’s investigating the situation. A spokesperson says “We’re all about making our customers happy, and that hasn’t happened for a small proportion of these orders. We’re really sorry about that and are investigating exactly what’s happened. We’re reaching out to every customer who’s had a problem and made us aware so we can put it right. Anyone who has had an issue with any order can contact our customer services team for help.”
These people will most likely end up getting the PlayStation 5, unfortunately just a bit later than expected. More quality time to spend with their cats. And, if they don’t have any kittens running around the house, maybe it’s a good time to adopt. First round of food’s on the thieves.
