The Zelda cartoon musical is both sprightly and sprite-ly

As you’ve no doubt have discovered by now, the Zelda series is a ripe target for full song-and-dance treatments. There’s been a musical number starring the loveable Ganondorf as well as a hip-hop joint featuring a rapping Great Deku Tree, among many others. Is it getting old? Naw! Not as long as the fans keep finding creative means of musical expression.

Take Mitchell Moffit’s performance above, for instance. Not only did he compose a catchy little tune, he also accompanied the song with an animation co-created by Chris McGregor and featuring custom sprites by a variety of contributors. It’s a cute adaptation of Ocarina of Time that should put a smile on your face and a spring in your step. If it doesn’t, you are a heartless monster.

Oh! And one other surprise! The voice of the Great Deku Tree… recognize it? It’s Tay Zonday, the “Chocolate Rain” guy! If you’ve been wondering what he’s been up to lately, here you go.
