The Witcher 2 will be coming to consoles, too!

CD Projekt has confirmed that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be a multiplatform release, coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as well as PC when it launches in 2011. This will be the very first time that Geralt of Rivia will appear on a home console, though not for want of trying in the past.

The original Witcher game was supposed to be coming to consoles as Rise of the White Wolf, but the project was scrapped before it could go any further. Hopefully that won’t happen this time, with The Witcher 2 being developed from the get-go with consoles in mind, as well as PC. This means that nearly everybody will have a chance to fiddle with Geralt next year, and that’s a good thing.
