The Week in Rock (Band DLC): B-52’s, Faith No More, Kiss

Recommended Videos

The veil of secrecy has been lifted from this week’s Rock Band downloadable content, and the Internet has met the news with an overwhelming “meh.” From the official Rock Band forums:

This week at $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) we have-

“Roam” by the B-52’s

“We Care A Lot” by Faith No More

“Calling Dr. Love” by Kiss

Another Kiss song isn’t surprising, but the inclusion of the B-52’s pop hit, “Roam” is a complete curveball. Say what you will about the song, but it’s nice to see that Harmonix aren’t afraid to deliver content that doesn’t necessarily fall into the traditional “rock” category; it’s songs like these that will keep your non-gaming, non-rocking friends into the game for hours.

I’m also happy to see that Faith No More’s “We Care A Lot” has finally made its way to Rock Band. I had a psychic vision that I was somewhere playing Rock Band and that this was one of the playable songs. In my psychic vision, I didn’t get a chance to play the track; it’s unclear whether or not this is the Mike Patton remake recorded live at the Brixton Academy, or if this is the Chuck Mosely original.

If anyone has any idea what the hell I’m talking about, then we should go grab a beer. You’re buying.

[Update: Harmonix’s Sean Baptiste informs me that the version of “We Care A Lot” is likely the original Introduce Yourself album version. As if anyone but me cared.]
