Where there’s a will, there’s a way. The heart wants what the heart wants. If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

Those vague expressions could apply to many things, but right now they apply to Warhawk. Sony took the Warhawk servers offline in January 2019. However, game preservation group PlayStation Online Network Emulated got it back up and running recently. You can play Warhawk on your PS3 today if you want.

It’ll take a little finagling but it’s not bad. You’ll need to change the DNS settings on your PS3 and then you should be good to go. The video that’s embedded above walks you through the steps.

Warhawk isn’t PSONE’s first undertaking. This group has also gotten SOCOM: ConfrontationTwisted Metal: Black Online, and Wipeout unofficially online. It’s kind of what they do.

So, that old Warhawk disc suddenly has some use again. 2020 keeps throwin’ curveballs.
