The wait for Demon’s Souls just got that much harder after seeing gameplay footage

The PS5 launch title to rule them all

Ever watch a trailer and have your brain short-circuit for a bit as you try to process everything? That’s me right now with this Demon’s Souls gameplay trailer from the PS5 Showcase event.

The screenshots did not, in fact, do enough justice. There’s such a cinematic vibe to Bluepoint’s take on this From Software classic. The backstab and riposte alone caught me off guard. It’s a whole new world.

Demon’s Souls will be a PS5 launch game on November 12 and cost $69.99. The original trailer ended with a note suggesting it’s coming to PC and it will be a PlayStation console exclusive “for a limited time,” but, according to a statement shared with Kotaku, that’s incorrect – a “human error.”

Officially, Sony maintains that Demon’s Souls is a PS5 exclusive through and through.
