The Sims: The Movie: The intensely stupid idea

According to Harry Knowles’ AICN, 20th Century Fox now has the rights to make a movie adaptation of The Sims based on a script penned by the genius who brought you Scary Movie 3.

Doesn’t this sound like exactly the sort of thing I would make up to parody the increasing idiocy of the Hollywood machine as regards gaming? My version would have had a subtext about the increasing irrelevance of the proletariat in our modern, mechanized world, and maybe the word ‘indubitably’ in it, but otherwise, this whole thing is starting to get eerie.
