The Adventure Awaits expansion pack primarily focuses on adding new experiences for Sims to enjoy while on Getaways, a new type of vacation system. There’s a big emphasis on child Sims, but there’s also lots of content for all ages.

  • Getaway system – Sims can now choose to embark on a Getaway, which means you can travel to unique locations made by you, other Simmers, or the Sims team, create schedules packed with activities, or take it easy, and ultimately enjoy whatever kind of trip you want. You can send them to the Love Highland Getaway to have them participate in a dating reality competition, visit Camp Gibbi Gibbi Getaway to have some fun in the wilderness, have them simply relax at the Revive & Thrive Getaway, create your own Getaway lot for a cooking competition, or just about anything else you can think of.
  • New skills – There are four fresh skills to master in this pack, including Papercraft, Archery, Diving, and Entomology.
  • New activities – This pack has many new activities your Sims can engage in, including panning, butterfly catching, diving, paper crafts, smoothie making, playing hide-and-seek, rock, paper, scissors, and archery.
  • Imaginary Friends – The terrifying yet lovable beings from The Sims 3 Generations are back, with four personalities to choose from, including goofball, creative, competitive, and evil.

  • Customizable playground – A full set of modular playground pieces is featured in this pack, allowing you to fully customize your ideal layout.
  • New world – Gibbi Point is the world included in this pack, and it features three new neighborhoods to explore. These areas are Wanderwood Wilds, Jellyfish Junction, and Crystal Valley. There’s plenty to find around all three regions, including geysers, moonlight jellyfish, and a mysterious local Plumbird.
  • Challenge modifiers – Can be applied to Getaway lots to create special rules. The romance competition elimination, for example, essentially allows you to host your own romance reality show. Other modifiers we’ve seen so far include cooking competition, creative skills contest elimination, activity shuffle, player choice elimination, and everyone hates each other.
  • New items – There are plenty of other items you can interact with in this pack, including blenders, kayaks, free weights, waterslides, spin bikes, a retro gaming console, diving boards, and archery stands.

If you want to learn more about this pack, you may want to review all new items and features in Adventure Awaits. There’s also plenty to keep you busy while you wait for this expansion to drop, including getting Magic Beans, working through the tricky Not Mushroom for Error Fable, and becoming a Fairy.
