Splatoon‘s second U.S. Splatfest is over, and this time, skill won out over popularity. After the enormous upset that was the Cats Vs. Dogs contest, it’s nice to see superior play (and the superior Squid Sister) come out on top. That’s not to say that Team Water Slides didn’t put up a valiant effort. This was a close game on all counts.

In the end, Team Roller Coasters lost the popular vote, with 46% percent of players on their side, but won 53% of the matches, which was enough for them to take the overall victory, with a final score of 152 to 148. So if you’re one of the folks who stayed up late playing and winning for Team Coasters, you can rest assured that your efforts weren’t in vain. The same goes for you folks overseas who are currently battling it out in the all important Eating Vs. Sleeping U.K. Splatfest. Go team Eat!
