The Sea of Thieves beta is back for the weekend

It’s almost March, and that means it’s almost time for Rare’s shared-world pirate adventure game Sea of Thieves. If yesterday’s look at skeleton forts left you counting the days until March 20, some good news: there’s another chance to mess with the beta. Rare is holding a second scale test this weekend.

Like last time, the idea here is to suss out issues pre-release by “throttling performance at certain times, testing the game in different data centres around the world, and simulating deliberate outages.” As a result, you should fully expect to see some technical hiccups from time to time.

This second Sea of Thieves scale test runs from today until Sunday, February 25 at 2:00am Pacific. It’s accessible for closed beta players and Xbox Insiders (check for it in the Insider Hub).
