The Resident Evil 2 remake is roughly the size of Resident Evil 7

Having to crack your hard drive open for 50GB games and 50GB patches (hello Fallout 76) sucks. But every so often you’re gifted a reasonable file size, and that’s what Capcom is seemingly doing with the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake.

Set to launch at the end of January, Resident Evil 2 will run you 21.05GB according to an official listing on the Microsoft Store. By comparison, Resident Evil 7 was 20.21GB at launch and basically the same size (20.7GB) as the PS4 edition.

After all this time it feels weird that it’s nearly here. And of course I don’t mean the relatively short wait from when it was announced: but rather, the long wait since it was hinted at years back. Knowing that I won’t have to completely destroy my HDD to get it going is the icing on top.
