The Old Republic 1.2: Tauntauns for everyone

I’ve sort of drifted away from Star Wars: The Old Republic, recently. After hitting 50 and reaching that end game grind I sort of just got a bit tired of it. However, nothing entices me back to an MMO like a big update. Game Update 1.2 went live today, and with it comes a slew of new features and content. Current subscribers get a bunch of goodies like a free tauntaun and 30 days of free play if they have a level 50 character. Those of you who have left the fold can come back and check out the new features for a week, too.

One of the biggest additions is the Legacy system. Previously it was nothing more than a surname to tie your characters together, now you can use it to unlock abilities, emotes and a variety of perks. Other requested features like a Guild Bank and UI customization have also been added. The new (incredibly bland) world of Denova provides a new raid, Operation Explosion and a new Warzone. A new Flashpoint is also available and players can continue the storyline started in Rise of the Rakghouls. The new world doesn’t tempt me very much, but there’s still enough to get me to go back. At least for the free month.
