The Mega Man comic explores awkward robot love

Valentine’s Day-themed pages from MM #22

We take a break from the Sonic / Mega Man joygasm festivities to remind you that on February 13 — the day before Valentine’s Day coincidentally — Archie Mega Man #22 hits shelves. It’s the requisite “love” issue, in which Roll plays matchmaker to get Mega and Quake Woman together, while Ice Man tries his best to express his feelings for Roll.

Yeah, here’s the thing…

The MM1 Robot Masters were built by Dr. Light, which means they are as much brothers to Mega as Mega is to Roll. Technically Ice Man and Roll are siblings, which makes the entire premise of this particular chapter more than a little awkward.

Maybe I’m blowing this out of proportion and it’s all harmless fun. Or maybe Archie writer Ian Flynn is lot naughtier than I gave him credit for.
