The Mana Bar opening new locations in Australia!

Recommended Videos

Over the past few months, it has been a common frustration surrounding any and all discussions of The Mana Bar. “I want to go!”, “Why does Brisbane get this?” and “When the hell are they opening in (insert city here).” Well you can finally stop throwing your controllers as the time has come!

Co-owner Guy “Yug” Blomberg officially announced today that The Mana Bar will be expanding, with new venues opening before 2011! “The Mana Bar’s Sydney and Melbourne will be open before the end of the year, and expanding into the rest of Australia will follow very shortly after. We are currently in discussions with other passionate entrepreneurs around the world who want a Mana Bar in their countries as well.”

The Mana Bar opened in March 2010 and since then, the place has been an incredible eye opener for those in and out of the gaming community in regards to not only the mix of patrons but also the community that has formed from within it.

“What we’ve seen is the opposite of so many people’s expectations. Having casual multiplayer games actually gets our patrons socialising with each other more than any other bar or club I’ve been to.”
Although that being said, here at Destructoid, we already know how amazing a community of gamers can be!

The members of DtoidAustralia who live in Brisbane are all frequent patrons of The Mana Bar, for events including Yahtzee’s trivia nights and a kick off party for our worldwide NARP tomorrow night! This is a really exciting announcement and I have heard whispers of a San Francisco Mana Bar as well so hopefully it won’t be long before a Mana Bar will be opening near you!
